Roles We Need
To run 10-man smoothly we need:
- 2 tanks (minimum)
- 2–3 healers
- 5–6 DPS (mix of melee and ranged)
Class Quick Reference
Death Knight
Strong tanks and melee DPS. Blood = tank. Frost/Unholy = DPS.
Paladin
Flexible hybrid. Holy = best healing throughput. Retribution = melee DPS. Protection = excellent tanking with strong utility.
Warrior
Classic tank or melee DPS. Arms and Fury for DPS. Protection for one of the best tanks in WotLK.
Druid
Very flexible. Balance (moonkin) for ranged DPS. Feral for melee DPS or tanking. Restoration for solid HoT healing.
Mage
Pure ranged DPS. Arcane is the highest output in ICC gear. Frost is beginner-friendly.
Warlock
Ranged DPS with great utility — summons, healthstones, and Soul Stone for raid recovery.
Hunter
Ranged DPS. Excellent for progression thanks to misdirection and traps.
Shaman
Restoration is an excellent group healer. Enhancement is fun melee DPS. Elemental for ranged DPS.
Priest
Holy and Discipline are both strong healers. Shadow for ranged DPS with mana utility.
Rogue
Pure melee DPS. Very gear-dependent but extremely good at single-target boss damage in ICC.
