Spawning into DeceasedCraft for the first time can be overwhelming. Here’s what to do.
Day One Priority List
- Find a Residential zone — lower zombie density, good for early base
- Collect wood and stone — you need tools immediately
- Find a bed — skipping nights early is worth it
- Board up your doors — wooden doors are not zombie-proof
- Stay quiet after dark — noise attracts hordes
Zone Tip: Residential zones are green on the map. City zones are blue — high risk, high reward. Wasteland is orange — endgame territory.
Early Tech Path
DeceasedCraft has a tech progression. As soon as possible:
- Build a Crafting Table and Furnace (vanilla)
- Find Research Papers in houses to unlock crafting recipes
- The first tech goal is a Refined Storage controller for item management
- Mid-game aim for Create machinery for automation
The Horde Wave System
Every few in-game days, a Horde Wave spawns. Waves scale with the number of days survived. Make sure your base is fortified before day 7.
- Layers matter — multiple walls slow zombies down
- Height doesn’t help — zombies can climb
- Light doesn’t repel zombies — they spawn regardless
